Painting - Vineyard Vignettes. Stones of the Yarra Valley
This water media artwork is a collection of nine plain air works produced on site in the Yarra Valley.
Created for the 2021 Yarra Valley Spring-Summer Art Prize, the piece was awarded Runner Up to Best In Show and holds a very special place in my heart.
I travelled to Stones on many occasions, mostly in the early morning (fog lifting and hot air balloons 'Pffting' were a feature) to watch the sunrise cast shadows over the incredible vineyard, buildings and surrounds. From these, I painted a series of vignettes to represent the many faces of Stones of the Yarra Valley.
Judge Anthony Fitzpatrick, curator at Tarrawarr Museum of Art, celebrated the spirit, technique and diversity of subject choice that this artwork delivers.
900 x 900 cm square, this piece is archival framed under glass. Free delivery within Australia.
